ABOUT
Husband-and-wife team Hannah and Dave Archer started Finger Lakes Football to give young athletes in our area a fun, welcoming way to experience the game.
Growing up in nearby Endicott, Dave went on to become the longest-tenured Ivy League Head Football Coach at Cornell University and now calls Ithaca home. His lifelong passion for football and dedication to youth development fuel this program. In 2022, he also founded Huddle Together, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting student-athlete mental health. Through this work, Dave has spoken at Cornell, Ithaca High School, Union-Endicott High School, Windsor High School, and served as keynote speaker at the NYS Section IV Student-Athlete Leadership Conference.
As a certified elementary and middle school teacher, Coach Archer brings both expertise and care to every session, making sure they are safe, fun, and engaging. Together, Hannah and Dave are committed to building a program that is welcoming, positive, and growth-focused—helping kids thrive both on and off the field.

We believe in building character, teaching respect, and fostering friendships that last long after the game ends.
OUR APPROACH IS GROUNDED IN 3 CORE VALUES:
Inclusivity
Every participant is welcome, regardless of experience or background. All skill levels are encouraged to join!
Positive Play
With safety, fair play, and encouragement at the forefront, kids learn to love the game in a healthy, supportive environment.
Growth
We emphasize teamwork, leadership, and personal development to help each player reach their fullest potential.

THE BENEFITS OF FLAG FOOTBALL
Flag football doesn’t just teach the rules of the game—it creates a supportive community where kids can challenge themselves, celebrate achievements, and grow both on and off the field.
Flexible & Fun
Whether your child is brand new to sports, wants a fun way to play with friends, or hopes to prepare for tackle football, flag provides the right level of play.
Healthy & Active
Flag keeps kids moving, encouraging fitness, coordination, and a healthy lifestyle away from screens.
A Great Introduction to Football
Players learn the fundamentals of the game in a positive, low-contact environment that builds skills and confidence.
More Than Sports
Teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and lasting friendships are all part of the experience.
